Lava Hotsprings 2011
School will be starting in a week so we headed to Lava Hotsprings for one last summer trip. We pulled the trailer and stayed at the rivers edge camp ground with Aaron's sisters family and a few friends of theirs. The kids had a blast at the water park and enjoyed riding bikes around camp and town, and how could we forget the numerous times of tubing down the river. It was a fun weekend but I'm somewhat ready for kids to be in school and have some kind of routine back.
Logan amazed me of how brave he really is. He wanted to jump off the first platform and ended up jumping off all three of them. I'm not sure how high the tallest platform is but I know I wouldn't dare to even try.
A day to Salt Lake City
So with school starting my sister-in-law and I decided to do one last outing with the kids. We decided to take the kids on the front runner to slc to the discovery kids museum and then let them play in the splash pad afterwards. Wyatt & Kennady had never been on the front runner before and they were more than excited to ride it. Here's how our day went.
The handsome boys!
The sweetest girls!
Discovery museum: The kids started off with some ball contraption and then from there it was endless. They went from one thing to the next just full of excitement and they couldn't get enough of the place. Here's the many pics of their fun filled day.
The boys had a great time being pilots in the helicopter. They however had a blast getting on the intercom and telling the other kids that they were going to crash and die. (I raised my boy well!)
The girls could of spent the entire day in the grocery store. They had fun pretending they were food shopping, being cashiers, etc.
Wyatt was such a good boy and waited forever for this boy to be done cashiering. Once he got up to the register his face lit up and the grin didn't come off. Logan and Tyler had fun pretending they were robbing the store and Wyatt would make a siren sound letting everyone know that they stole the food. A few more kids got in on the fun and that was probably their highlight of the day.
After the museum we headed to the splash pad at the gateway to let the kids cool off. They had fun dancing to the music and getting wet. I myself just wanted to go lay down in the middle of it all and get soaking wet....it was such a hot day. Wyatt had fun standing over the water holes and having them splash up between his legs. Oh he is funny!
To end the day we stopped in build a bear for a bit and then we got some pretzels and ice cream for the ride home. I'm glad the kids had so much fun and am sad that summer has gone by so quickly.

IFly and Ice cream
Logan's friend Max had a birthday over the weekend and instead of having a birthday party his parents let him choose something new that he would like to do. Max choose to do Ifly and Monday just happened to be buy 1 get 1 free so Max was able to choose somebody he would like to do it with. His mom was thinking he would probably choose his dad but he choose to take Logan along with him. I'm not sure if his dad was a little sad about it but Logan and I were extremely grateful for this opportunity. Logan was way excited to go do it but when Monday came along he was just full of questions. I could tell that we was very nervous about doing it but he had his good friend Max right there with him and they both did great. Max was loving every minute of it smiling and with Logan I couldn't tell if he was on the verge of crying or what. They both came out and all I could get out of Logan was that it was good and Max however was on cloud nine saying how awesome it was and that he wanted to do it again. What an experience for them both!
Ready to go!
Not the greatest picture but when I took the picture with the flash on it didn't work great either. So this is the best one I could get.
Gotta love the hairdo after! I can't stop laughing and I think he still wasn't sure about the whole experience.
Afterwards we stopped at Farr's Ice cream for a little treat. You can't drive by and not stop especially when your prego. :) Logan and Wyatt got plato ice cream, Kennady got bubblegum, and I stuck with my usual and favorite...cookies-n-cream. YUMMY!
When I was little I also loved getting the bubblegum ice cream and saving all the gum so I could chew them after my ice cream was gone. It always ended up though that I would chew them all and then swallow them, which always resulted in me throwing them up. So as we were sitting there enjoying our ice cream I watched Kennady put the bubblegum on her napkin to save for later. I had to smile and think how great it was that at least one of my kids take after me.

End of summer swimming
So this is the last week before school starts. I am somewhat glad that it is starting back up but yet more sad than anything. With me being so sick at the beginning of summer I feel like half the kids summer was such a waste. I feel like such a horrible mother and feel like the kids have missed out on so much. I have tried to squeeze in as much as possible this last month but feel like there is so much I still want to do with the kiddos. A friend of ours has invited us to go swimming with them every monday and we have tried to go as much as possible but I knew this would be the last time they could go before school so I jumped at the opportunity.
The kids had fun playing on the blowup toys, diving and jumping off the diving board, diving for rings at the bottom of the pool, and just being a kid...squirting each other, dunking each other, etc. The best thing about it for me was just watching them have a fun day. My swimsuit is not fitting me to great and it tends to ride half way up my rounded belly so I sat on the side soaking up my legs in the sun since I am to cheap to go by a maternity suit since summer is practically over. I loved not being at a public pool as well and there were only 8 kids total to keep an eye on. It was grand!
