1st day of school

I can't believe that all three of my kids will be in school.  This is Wyatt & Kennady's first year and are entering Kindergarten.  I remember how I longed for this day but now that it is here I'm not so sure anymore.  The twins were more than excited to start school and Logan was just excited to show everyone his new Nike backpack and puma shoes. :)  He is not one to get excited about school.  He has struggled the last couple of years so I am hoping this year will be a little different....we'll see.
The morning went well and everyone was in good spirits, even myself.  I was doing pretty good and felt a little weird that I wasn't to sad that all my kids would be gone most of the day.  We headed to the bus stop, I snapped a few shots, came home and ended up losing it.  I walked through the door and it hit me that my kids were growing up way to fast.  I definitely wasn't used to how quit the house was and I missed having someone near me. I'm sure this feeling will only last a few days until I realize how great it is to have a few hours to myself to do whatever.  That is until January comes and our new little one arrives.

This was the outfit Kennady herself picked out when Grandma Herrick took her school shopping. Cute!

His shirt that he picked out with Grandma Herrick also.

Logan was all about picking out his clothes this year.  It was kind of fun to see him get excited and know what would be cool. :) He picked him out some skinny jeans and dad was thrilled about that...ha ha!

After they hopped on the bus I followed them to the school and tried to get a few pictures.  Wyatt turned around and happened to see me and ended up pulling a frowny face at me.  I think he was feeling a little overwhelmed so I ended up not staying long.

Them getting off the bus!  They both came running to me and I got an ear full of how fun school was.

Logan came home later that day, walked in the house, threw his book bag down and said that school is stupid and that he already has homework.  We are off to another great start and school year....yay!

Back to school fashion show

Most Sundays my side of the family gets together for Sunday dinner at my mom's.  The last couple of years on the Sunday before school starts the kids will bring their school clothes and give us a little fashion show.  The kids have enjoyed doing this and have alot of fun with it.  We play music and some of them are a little shy and some of them give us a little dance or strut.  It's really cute to watch them! Here's the kids with their cousins Ethan, Madelyn, Emma and even little Mack joined in on the fun.

Wyatt loves his transformer shirt and new light up sketcher shoes.  After his little dance he gave us he ended up getting a little shy but by the end again he was dancing away with his hip hop moves.

Logan's favorite things are his puma shoes and his new orange Nike backpack.  The backpack was more than what I would spend but he ended up making some money this summer cutting lawns and offered to pay for it himself.  I ended up going in on half of it and it was totally worth it....he is stoked to show it to his friends.  He was feeling pretty cool!

Kennady was being her shy self and really wouldn't come dance or give us a strut.  This was the outfit that Grandma Herrick bought her for starting Kindergarten.  She picked it out herself and was all about the bling.

Cute little Emma who will be in preschool this year

Our niece and Diva Madelyn.  She was working the strut and gave us some dances.

Handsome Ethan with little Mack who had fun dancing around with the bigger kids.

Lava Hotsprings 2011

School will be starting in a week so we headed to Lava Hotsprings for one last summer trip.  We pulled the trailer and stayed at the rivers edge camp ground with Aaron's sisters family and a few friends of theirs.  The kids had a blast at the water park and enjoyed riding bikes around camp and town, and how could we forget the numerous times of tubing down the river.  It was a fun weekend but I'm somewhat ready for kids to be in school and have some kind of routine back.

Logan amazed me of how brave he really is.  He wanted to jump off the first platform and ended up jumping off all three of them.  I'm not sure how high the tallest platform is but I know I wouldn't dare to even try.

A day to Salt Lake City

So with school starting my sister-in-law and I decided to do one last outing with the kids.  We decided to take the kids on the front runner to slc to the discovery kids museum and then let them play in the splash pad afterwards.  Wyatt & Kennady had never been on the front runner before and they were more than excited to ride it. Here's how our day went.

                                                          The handsome boys!

                                                         The sweetest girls!

Discovery museum:  The kids started off with some ball contraption and then from there it was endless.  They went from one thing to the next just full of excitement and they couldn't get enough of the place.  Here's the many pics of their fun filled day.

The boys had a great time being pilots in the helicopter.  They however had a blast getting on the intercom and telling the other kids that they were going to crash and die. (I raised my boy well!)

The girls could of spent the entire day in the grocery store.  They had fun pretending they were food shopping, being cashiers, etc.

Wyatt was such a good boy and waited forever for this boy to be done cashiering.  Once he got up to the register his face lit up and the grin didn't come off.  Logan and Tyler had fun pretending they were robbing the store and Wyatt would make a siren sound letting everyone know that they stole the food.  A few more kids got in on the fun and that was probably their highlight of the day.

After the museum we headed to the splash pad at the gateway to let the kids cool off.  They had fun dancing to the music and getting wet.  I myself just wanted to go lay down in the middle of it all and get soaking wet....it was such a hot day.  Wyatt had fun standing over the water holes and having them splash up between his legs.  Oh he is funny!

To end the day we stopped in build a bear for a bit and then we got some pretzels and ice cream for the ride home.  I'm glad the kids had so much fun and am sad that summer has gone by so quickly.
