Tumbling

Wyatt & Kennady have been taking tumbling on and off now for the past 2 1/2 years.  We just switched tumbling places about a month ago and Kennady is really excelling fast with this new place.  Here are the stats:

Wyatt:  He likes to just have fun and goof off.  His teacher has to get after him a couple times which is good.  I am really worried about him starting Kindergarten in the fall because his attention span is very very short.  He likes to do the front flips into the foam blocks and he likes to land on his knees instead of his feet when he does his cart wheels.  Another thing his teacher gets after him for :)

Kennady:  She loves tumbling and is very good at it.  It has only been a month at this new place and she has already been advanced into a higher class.  She loves doing front flips and has just started doing back handsprings.  She is thrilled about it!  Tumbling is something she really enjoys doing and she is always doing cart wheels around the house.

Not a good picture but I tried getting her doing her back handspring

Good night's sleep

I had come home the other night and all the kids had been put to bed.  I went up to check on them and noticed that Wyatt had chosen to sleep on the floor and that his blanket was only covering him half way. I knew he wasn't wearing his pajama top and he looked a little cold so as I pulled the blanket to pull up on him I noticed that he wasn't wearing any of his pajamas and he had on his shin guards.  I thought it was kind of cute so I had to take his picture.  The flash ended up waking him up.

I'm not sure what it is about sleeping on the floor but they all want to take their turn.  We usually have someone on the floor at least once a week.  When they do this they all choose to sleep in the same room.  Two of them will take the bunks and the other on the floor.

Nerf Wars

Along with the spring cleaning came some boxes from under the crawl space.  Logan had a great idea and asked Aaron to make a fort for them.  The kids had fun making and drawing on their fort.  Logan decided he wanted their team to be called the death traps.  As you can see his spelling was a little off...I asked him why he chose to be the death craps. :)  He said no it's death trap and I told him it said crap and that he needed to read it again.  He thought it was funny but ended up fixing it.  I guess with his braces it sounded like the "ch" sound so that's how he spelled it.

No more crap.....they are now the death trap!

We split up into two teams being mom & dad against the kids.  We got every Nerf gun and dart possible and had a great time having war with one another.  That was until I hit Wyatt in the face....oops!  After me giving him some kisses he went back to his fort and later on ended up hitting me in the forehead.  It was good to turn off the t.v. and have some good playing time with the kids.  We later baked some brownies and ended the night with a movie.

Dentist & Doctor

So Aaron & I were on a "spring" cleaning kick and were going through things that we no longer needed.  I had come across some masks and gloves that I used when I did permanent makeup.  The kids instantly wanted to play with them. I continued cleaning out the closet and when I was done I came upstairs and this is what I saw.
Kennady was playing the Dentist and Wyatt was being the "doctor."  Wyatt was telling Aaron what foods he should eat and Kennady was determined to clean Aaron's teeth.  She actually even flossed them.  I think we might have a dental hygienist in the future. :)

Logan- Basketball

This year Logan has become a little more interested in basketball and has done very well.  He is understanding the game and his positions.  This year they moved the basket to 10ft. and I was amazed that these little boys could shoot that far.  Logan has improved alot on his shooting and he usually is always on.  We have tried to work on him being a little more aggressive but Logan is just not an aggressive kid.  It wasn't until the last couple of games that he got aggressive enough to start stilling the ball away.  Once he figured that out he was on fire. Their team has been together for the past few years and are working very well together.   I am amazed that they can run plays and know when to pass the ball.  They are very good and win almost every game.  There is only one other team that they battle with each year.  Last year Logan's team took first place and this year they tied for first place with that other team.  Logan does not like to loose and we have had to talk with him about sportsmanship.

This was Logan's first time doing a foul shot before in a game.  He missed the first one but made the second.  He was really excited about it and is getting some confidence.  This is weird to say but I found myself holding back some tears.  I guess it's one of those things that I found joy in watching Logan and seeing him light up.
The team:  Jackson, Carter, Kord, Logan, Kohl, and Carston

Girls day

So I am done with winter and done with being couped up.  My friend Emily and I usually try to go to lunch as much as possible to get out of the house, but today we decided to try something different.  We felt the urge to go get a pedicure and let the little girls get their toes painted.  Kennady loves having her fingers and toes painted so she was super excited when she found out she was getting hers done too.  We first had to eat at pretzelmaker though.  Anytime we go to the mall it is a for sure thing that Kennady wants pretzel bites with cheese. :)

                                           Her cute little friend Kennedy.

Kennady smiled when the chinese lady painted on the cute white flower.  But then the chinese lady was rambling about something (I couldn't understand a word) and she started painting these black lines around the flower.  When the lady got done Kennady looked at me with this weird look on her face and said "what is that it looks wierd."  It was kindof funny but atleast our toes are all cute for spring....which is hopefully coming soon!

Logan- Blue & Gold Banquet

This past Thursday was a blue & gold banquet for scouting.  Logan was super excited for this one because he was finally recieving his bobcat award.  He has had it finished for a while now but every pack mtg we wait for them to call his name and for some reason the award isn't announced.  We made sure it was going to be given at this one!  I am so proud of Logan and Aaron.  There have been alot of things in his book that we could of just signed off from him doing it before he entered scouting, but he is doing them again and you can tell he is proud of what he has done.  He loves scouts!

Him receiving his Bobcat....way to go!

I don't know alot about scouting but for whatever reason they have the mother come up to have their son pin on a recognition pin.  So I had the lovely honor of having Logan pin it on me and getting a good hug from him.  It's not the greatest picture of it, but atleast I can show him he loved me at one time. :)

All the groups were in charge of doing a little skit after the awards.  Logan was embarrased to do it but did a great job.

His group recieved the dedication award
It was a great night.  We had taco's and enjoyed watching the skits as well as all the kids receiving their awards.

Pity Party

So many of you know that I have taken up running.  I started almost 2 years ago to accomplish a half marathon and found that I was overwhelmed with the accomplishment that came from running and doing races.  I was struggling a couple of years ago and found that running was my "out" and what a better way to stay fit.  After my third half marathon I set out to accomplish a full marathon.  After months of hard training and only 3 weeks until the top of Utah marathon, I injured my left knee and was not able to do the race.  I took 2 months off of doing nothing and recently have been doing physical therapy to try to get me back to where I was.  Unfortunately for some reason it just does not want to heal.  After seeing a few doctors I was told 2 ways I could go:  (1) that it will take a very long time for it to heal and that I need to stop running for a while and be PATIENT! I've been patient long enough dang it!!!!! or (2) I could have surgery, which he didn't recommend since it can heal on it's own.  I knew what the right thing was to do and I wasn't happy about it.  I realized what little hope I had of doing my race in May, wasn't going to happen.
I had signed up for the Ogden marathon hoping I would be able to do it, so here I am once again not being able to achieve my goal of doing a marathon.  I know that it is only a race and there are plenty more of them, but being so close to doing one and having that pretty much wiped out from underneath ya, not only once but twice is very discouraging.
As I have put the word out to sell my spot for the race, I have been more than emotional and quite can't figure out why this means so much to me.
So within the last year and a half I have been dealing with some personal issues,  I had skin cancer removed from my face, and this ongoing issue with my knee that just won't heal.  I have definitely been a little bitter at times and have had my share of pity parties of why things keep happening to me.   I sit and wonder what I am supposed to be learning from all of this.  Patience?  Humility?
