This past week in preschool the kids have been learning about how to keep their body healthy and what foods they should eat. They had to cut out different kinds of foods from the newspaper or magazines and bring them to school to discuss what was healthy and what wasn't. So today's field trip was to Lee's Market to let them experience a little more. Johnny was their little tour guy and even though I thought he was really corny at times he kept the kids interested and had them laughing quite a bit. He did a great job discussing and showing them was was important to eat and the kids had alot of fun with him.
While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, Wyatt and a few other boys thought it was fun to act like they were playing the drums on pop cans.
Johnny took all the kids in the back of the store and showed them how they get their food. It just so happened that the hostess truck was there so they got to see him finish up and drive away. Johnny then took all the kids on a little ride on the dock (if that's what ya call it).
They also got to go see the big fridge and walk around in it. Kennady and Wyatt both got scared when he shut the door so they lasted only a minute in it. All the kids thought it was cool how they could all fit in the fridge.
At the end of the tour Johnny gave them all cookies and balloons to take home with them. Kennady said that's her favorite store because they have little shopping carts so she can shop too.
